Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Everybody, it's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today, we'll be taking a look at the PrimusIQ Proportional Brake Controller by Tekonsha on our 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan. Now, whenever you're looking for a brake controller for your Caravan, obviously you're wanting to pull a trailer that has electric brakes on it. Now, our PrimusIQ, I like it because it's a proportional style brake controller. Now, what that means is, is that it's going to apply the brakes to our trailer at the same time and intensity that we apply the brakes in our caravan, opposed to the traditional style or older style brake controllers that we're a time delay. They had a preset amount of time that it would wait and it would apply the brakes to whatever setting you had. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite activator IV trailer brake controller for one to four axles, part number 5504. Now we're also going to be using in conjunction, pigtail wiring harness for the Draw-Tite brake controller and that's going be part number 7894. We're also going to be using the no drill long bracket, which is going to be part number 18136. Also, to help us get the wiring installed, we're going to be using the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers, part number ETBC7.Here's what our brake controller looks like fully installed. Now this is a time delay brake controller, so we do have the option to mount it pretty much any which way we want. It does have the manual override button right here, which is going to be a lever style. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be installing a Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller, part number 39523. To ease our installation we'll be installing our brake controller with our 7-Way Adapter Kit, part number ETBC7. Here's what our brake controller looks like installed. As you can see, it's a nice, slimline design, very simple to operate, and easy to use. This will easily allow us to control trailer brakes on trailers that have up to two axles, making our Caravan a more suitable tow vehicle. This LED, when we don't a trailer connected, there is nothing displayed there. It's just off. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to show you the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller, part number TK90160. This is what the brake controller looks like once it's installed on our Caravan here. First off, we'll cover what you can see. We've got our bracket here, and of course, our brake controller. It's a nice sleek unit, pretty thin. The bracket it comes with makes the brake controller easily removable so you can trade it between different vehicles. If you ever need to activate trailer brakes by themselves, you can move to manual override. You can see how the numbers scroll up to showing the power. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan 90885- Video

Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. We're going to be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller. Part number 90885. We're also going to be installing the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers, part number ETBC7. Now here we have our brake controller, we have everything hooked up and you slide the manual override, the lever on the bottom we have an NC for showing that there's not a trailer connected. Now I'll go ahead and plug the trailer into the back. Now that we have a trailer plugged into the back, you can see that we have a C showing that it is connected. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2009 Dodge Caravan, we'll be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller, part number 90885. Note, this vehicle has already had an ETBC7 brake controller installation kit installed, so we'll be connecting to it and mounting our brake controller. So to begin our install, we'll take the pocket from our brake controller and install the pocket onto the dash. We'll be installing it on the kick panel to the passenger side of the steering wheel. We'll use the hardware provided with our install kit to secure it. Next, we'll take the wiring harness from the brake controller and secure it to the vehicle. more
